After years of trying to replace star quarterback Andrew Luck with veterans like Philip Rivers and Matt Ryan, the Indianapolis Colts may have found a long-term option at the quarterback position, with Anthony Richardson now leading the charge under center.
Although Richardson’s rookie campaign ended much earlier than anticipated, as he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury four games into his NFL career, the Colts are confident they have their future face of the franchise and hope to have a great season in 2024.
The Colts might have to wait a couple of years before seeing some real results with Richardson under center, as he may not be able to have the same instant success as CJ Stroud had with the Houston Texans, but the future seems bright in Indianapolis.
The Colts hope to make a run at the NFL playoffs in 2024, so they want the best players on the roster ahead of Week 1 when they’ll host Stroud and company at Lucas Oil Stadium.
That said, every move from here on out will be crucial, and on Monday, they claimed running back Demetric Felton while also waiving running back Trent Pennix, according to the team’s Twitter account.

Felton spent his first two seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns before landing on the practice squad with the Cincinnati Bengals last year and recently getting cut by the Chicago Bears.
With star running back Jonathan Taylor having injury issues, the Colts likely want to ensure the backfield is secure and has viable options for the 2024 NFL season.
