Jonathan Taylor has been one of the most-discussed players of the NFL offseason.
He has been at odds with the Indianapolis Colts after a recent conversation with Jim Irsay.
This conversation resulted in a trade request by Taylor, followed by Irsay’s insistence that he would stay on the team.
While this dispute has gone on, Taylor has been away from the team.
Despite there not being a resolution in sight, it appears that Taylor is slated to come back to the team.
According to head coach Shane Steichen via Bleacher Report, “He should be back this week,” not providing a specific date.
“He should be back this week. Do I know the exact date he’ll be back? No, but he should be back.”

Throughout the conversations about contractual disputes, a secondary storyline has also taken place.
Taylor is rumored to be nursing an injury, a potential reason he hasn’t been at training camp lately.
If that is the case, a prolonged absence from practice makes sense.
Steichen appears to believe that Taylor is slated to return to the team, which couldn’t come at a better time.
There is less than one month until the regular season kicks off.
Taylor has been a staple of the Colts’ offense and is established as one of their top talents.
If he were to sit out any time during the regular season, it could put a cap on the team’s ceiling.
While the Colts do have a few running backs on the depth chart behind Taylor, it would take a significant rise in production to replace him.
When he is back on the field, will Taylor be fully healthy?
