For now, it seems like Jonathan Taylor won’t leave the Indianapolis Colts.

They had set a deadline to trade him, and no team was willing to meet their terms, so he’ll stay put for the time being at least.

Notably, Stephen Holder reported that the Miami Dolphins were one of the teams in the race to land him, which was far from a surprise.

Dolphins insider Barry Jackson confirmed the report, adding that the Colts’ asking price for the star running back was just too high, as they wanted to get Jaylen Waddle and more for his services.

As @HolderStephen reported, Packers were mystery bidder for Jonathan Taylor, besides the Dolphins. And can confirm through Dolphins person, as reported by Indy media, that Colts made wild requests from Miami, including Waddle & more.

Needless to say, the Dolphins most likely never considered trading one of their rising stars for Taylor, especially considering how brutal the market for running backs has been lately.

Miami desperately craved a boost to their running game, and they also tried to get Dalvin Cook in the past, but the front office was right to draw a line in the sand about what they were willing to give up.

Trading a first-round pick for him could’ve made sense, as they are expected to be a playoff team, and that pick would’ve likely been in the bottom third of the round.

The Colts, however, never seemed fully engaged to move on from their All-Pro running back, who stayed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Taylor will miss the first four games of the season at the very least, and whether he’ll suit up for the Colts again remains to be seen.
