NFL fans have to love it when a player has a chip on his shoulder.

In Indianapolis, Colts fans will get to witness that with rookie Adonai Mitchell.

Mitchell was drafted in the second round out of Texas by GM Chris Ballard, but he isn’t exactly happy about how many receivers were picked ahead of him.

According to ESPN’s Stephen Holder, Mitchell will wear the No. 10 to represent the number of receivers drafted ahead of him.

Awesome: #Colts WR Adonai Mitchell will wear No. 10 as a reminder of the 10 receivers that were selected before him in the 2024 NFL Draft.

This chip-on-the-shoulder mentality has gone both ways for players before.

With Mitchell’s abilities, he should be proving doubters wrong for a while.

The two-time national champion and former All-Big 12 performer should make magic happen for head coach Shane Steichen and Co.

After transferring from Georgia after the 2022 season, the Tennessee native would go on to catch 55 passes for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns for Texas in 2023.

He brings good size at 6-2, 205 pounds.

He’ll complement the likes of Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce in the wide receiver room.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson, who should be fully healthy this upcoming season (2024), will be eager to build a connection with Mitchell as the season gets closer.

He could be an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate if he utilizes the chip on his shoulder properly.
