The Washington Commanders are hoping to finally right the ship now that longtime team owner Dan Snyder is no longer running the show, with Josh Harris and his ownership group taking over before the start of last season and putting in the work to get this team back on track.
One of the key decisions the team will have to make during this NFL offseason is what to do at the quarterback position, as Washington has already moved on from Sam Howell, who was recently traded to the Seattle Seahawks.
Along with moving on from Howell, the Commanders signed veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota this offseason and have their sights set on bringing in a talented young quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft with the No. 2 overall pick.
In order to bolster the quarterback room a bit more, Washington has signed veteran quarterback Jeff Driskel, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Driskel in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Obviously, things didn’t work out for Driskel in the Bay Area, as he ended up with the Cincinnati Bengals the same year he was drafted, followed by stints with the Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, and Cleveland Browns.
Needless to say, Driskel has bounced around the league quite a bit and has become a career backup in the NFL, but he continues to get jobs and will likely be on the lower end of the quarterback depth chart in Washington with the team either running with Mariota as their starter or thrusting a rookie quarterback into the fire right away to start next season.
