Rookie No. 2 pick and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels has drawn nothing but rave reviews since becoming the newest franchise quarterback of the Washington Commanders.

While No. 1 pick and fellow Heisman winner Caleb Williams is getting most of the attention early on, Daniels has checked every box so far as well and has particularly impressed one franchise legend.

Former Washington Commanders quarterback Joe Theismann took to X to express his admiration for the team’s new QB, tweeting a simple message saying “Jayden looking really solid.”

Daniels was 10-for-12 for 78 yards with another 13 yards on the ground in Saturday’s 13-6 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Daniels played two series and led drives of 46 and 52 yards which both ended with field goal attempts as Riley Patterson was able to convert from 46 yards but missed from 49.

It’s rare that a Heisman-winning QB comes into the NFL and gets as little buzz as Daniels has, but the fact that he came into the league with five other top-12 picks at his position has something to do with it.

It was the most action fans have seen from Daniels after he went 2-for-3 for 45 yards and a 3-yard rushing TD in the first preseason game against the New York Jets, and so far Daniels looks to be everything he was advertised to be.

The Commanders will take on the New England Patriots to close out their preseason before Daniels leads the team onto the field for a Week 1 battle at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to make his regular-season debut.
