The Washington Commanders are looking to take the next step in their development as a team during the 2023 season as they’ve got some exciting young talent in the wings.

Sam Howell will be the team’s starting quarterback, but most eyes will be on the receiver corps led by Terry McLaurin.

McLaurin’s been one of the best young receivers in the NFL, but has never had the help opposite of him to truly be his best self on the field.

However, the Commanders may have rectified that when they took Jahan Dotson in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Dotson made an immediate impact as a rookie as he scored four touchdowns through his first four games before being slowed down by injuries.

Now entering his second season, Dotson is expected to take a leap and he discussed what it’s been like to work with Washington’s new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy via Good Morning Football.

Dotson reveals that it’s been great working with Bieniemy during the offseason and training camp and that bodes well for the duo’s future together.

Bieniemy is widely regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the league today and his creativity and playcalling can only mean good things for a player like Dotson.

Although the Commanders may find it difficult to compete in a loaded NFC East, there’s no denying that they’ve got some pieces that will make them competitive on a weekly basis.

Hopefully, Bieniemy and Dotson are able to lift the team’s offense and get them back into the playoffs.
