The Washington Commanders closed out the season in somewhat promising fashion.
They didn’t make the playoffs but showed just enough promise to keep HC Ron Rivera around for at least another season, and their offense looked far better than most people expected.
They doubled down on that side of the field by hiring Eric Bieniemy to serve as their new offensive coordinator and top-of-the-line assistant, with some even speculating that he could take over Rivera if things go south early in the season.
With that in mind, Jim Rome asked Commanders WR Jahan Dotson about his early impressions after getting to work with Bieniemy.

Dotson admitted that he’s still getting up to speed with the new playbook and system, adding that Bieniemy’s offense will help him play loose and fast, which is obviously the way he likes to play.
When asked about Bieniemy’s character and old-school ways, Dotson praised his new coach by stating that he just shows that he cares and wants everybody else around him to care as much as he does.
Dotson said that Bieniemy is everything you want from a coach, citing that he’s a guy that will push you to your limits to try and bring the best out of you, adding that he’s “truly grateful” to have him around.
Bieniemy was one of the architects behind the Kansas City Chiefs’ historically-great offense, and he’s long overdue for a HC position of his own.
Maybe, it won’t be long before he see him as the top dog in D.C.
