It takes more than just talent to make it in the National Football League.

Talent and skill alone can take you places, but your work ethic and personality — as well as some luck — could be even more determining factors in a player’s success — or lack thereof.

That’s why Washington Commanders legend Doug Williams is so high on Jayden Daniels.

While his talents and physical traits are more than evident, he believes that the way he gets along with everybody and how hard he works will be what truly sets him apart from the rest of the pack (via Next Man Up By The Commanders & Jayden Daniels MVP).

Legendary QB Doug Williams on Jayden Daniels:

“I think we’re lucky we got a guy like Jayden Daniels who don’t have any diva to him, he get along with everybody, he come to work, come here at 6:30 in the morning. I promise you, you’ll find his car in the parking lot”.

Some might mistake Daniels’ confident demeanor with a lack of humility, but not his teammates.

It didn’t take long before he embraced a leadership role and made his voice heard, but he’s also made sure to listen, be coached, and pick his teammates’ brains to get better every single day.

The Commanders have high hopes and expectations for the season.

While not many people believe they will be able to compete at the highest level, this could pave the way for great things to come.

With Dan Quinn and Kliff Kingsbury leading the way, plus the plethora of offensive talent they’ve put together, there’s a chance that this team could sneak its way into the postseason if they catch a couple of breaks.

And even if that’s not the case, just allowing Daniels to grow through his mistakes will end up having a huge impact.
