MLB has seen an influx of young stars take over the league this year.
Some of the most exciting players are playing their first full season in the majors.
That has led to an interesting Rookie of the Year ballot this year.
One name that stands out among the rest is Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll.
Not only has he been the best rookie in baseball but he is also one of the best players.
Carroll is on the shortlist of candidates for NL MVP.
No wonder he is at the top of MLB.com’s rookie power rankings.

The one other hitter on this list that can challenge Carroll for the top spot is Elly De La Cruz.
He is the Reds’ top prospect and is ranked as the second-best in all of baseball.
De La Cruz has only played 18 games so far this year and is having an impact far greater than anyone could imagine.
He has already hit for the cycle and the Reds have a 13-5 record with him in the lineup.
Arizona and Cincinnati are two of the most surprising teams in the league this year.
You can thank a large portion of their wins to the youth that has taken over their lineups.
Sticking with teams that have surprised this year, it is hard to not mention the Miami Marlins.
No one thought they would be 11 games over .500 but here we are.
The pitching of rookie Eury Perez has been a major factor in their success.
He has been as advertised, pitching to an ERA of 1.34 in nine games.
Perez is only 20 years old and he has a chance to be one of the best pitchers in the sport for a long time.
