Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones claimed that his team would go ‘all-in’ in the offseason.
The fans and the media had a tough time believing that, as he said that shortly after announcing he wasn’t going to fire HC Mike McCarthy after suffering one of the toughest losses in franchise history.
Now, the team is expected to lose one of it’s best offensive players.
According to a report by Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News (via Ari Meirov), they have granted veteran WR Michael Gallup permission to seek a trade.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys aren’t likely to get a lot in return for their star wideout, as teams expect them to release him if they can’t find him a trade suitor.
Gallup broke out with over 1,000 receiving yards back in 2019, but he’s failed to log 500 or more receiving yards in the past three seasons.
He’s coming off a career-worst campaign in 2023, with just 418 yards and two touchdowns.
Gallup looked like a star in the making in 2019 and 2020, but suffered multiple injuries the following campaign.
The team signed him to a five-year, $57.5 million pact ahead of the 2022 season, yet he has rarely been able to be impactful.
He’s going to have a $13.85 million salary cap hit next season.
Teams looking to get a proven wide receiver could look to make a run at him if he is released, and while there’s always an injury risk with a player like him, he’s worth the gamble at the right price.
