It took them until two weeks before the start of the NFL season, but the Dallas Cowboys have finally added a big name to their roster.
Unfortunately, the player is on the back end of his career.
According to a report by Tom Pelissero, Jerry Jones’ team has agreed to a deal with veteran RB Dalvin Cook.
Four-time Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook is signing with the #Cowboys, per his agency LAA.

The former Minnesota Vikings star had remained a free agent throughout the course of the offseason as he waited for the right opportunity, and it seems like he’s found it.
Cook had a workout with the Cowboys on Tuesday, and Mike McCarthy may have liked what he saw.
He just turned 29 and has a history of injuries.
Also, he didn’t get to play much last season.
Cook logged just 67 carries for 214 yards with the New York Jets, providing depth behind Breece Hall after being let go by the Minnesota Vikings.
Then, he joined the Baltimore Ravens, logging eight touches for 23 yards in their playoff win over the Houston Texans, but he wasn’t featured in the AFC Championship Game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cook logged four 1,000-yard rushing seasons, and he also was an instrumental part of their success in 2022 when they ran away with the NFC North Division.
If he’s healthy and in good shape, he should immediately become the Cowboys’ workhorse back.
Even if they reportedly want to take a committee approach, Cook represents a massive upgrade for their unimpressive RB room ahead of a very complicated season in Arlington.
