Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys has always been a fairly talented quarterback, but he has also been the subject of quite a bit of criticism.
His critics charge that he routinely underperforms in big games and in big moments and that he is ultimately the albatross that is holding his team back from winning the Super Bowl.
He played very poorly in a Week 5 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers when he threw three interceptions in what some called the worst game of his career.
But since then, Prescott has rebounded, and once again, the Cowboys’ stock seems to be rising.
Teammate Brandin Cooks gave him some very big praise, saying he’s one of the best leaders he’s ever been around and that he has “that dog in him.”
In fact, Cooks says he puts Prescott up there with Tom Brady and Drew Brees, two of the greatest quarterbacks ever, per NFL Network.

Cooks played his first three seasons with Brees on the New Orleans Saints, and he spent the 2017 campaign with Brady’s New England Patriots, so he definitely knows what he’s talking about here.
Many have praised Prescott over the years for his intangibles and character, and there’s no doubt he rates pretty high in those categories.
However, it all comes down to his play on the field, especially when it matters most, and that is where he needs to step things up.
This past Sunday, with a chance to lead the Cowboys to a come-from-behind win over the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, he came up short again, as he was sacked and then got called for a delay of game penalty in the final minute.
