The sports media industry is a very interesting place, especially when it comes to life as a broadcaster at ESPN or Fox Sports.

Relationships between former players and media personalities can be somewhat hostile depending on who the people are and what they are talking about.

Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter, who used to work as an analyst for ESPN, recently revealed that he almost got into a fight with longtime sports host Skip Bayless.

“Skip Bayless is not one of my favorite people,” Carter said on Fully Loaded while detailing an experience he had many years ago with Bayless, who called him out for not being able to win a Super Bowl.

Bayless seemingly taking that shot at Carter shows the divide between athletes and sports television hosts.

Whenever a host goes in on a player like that, the player might take that personally because they were the one who poured everything they had into the sport.

Carter was an eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver and is a member of the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.

He is one of the best players in the history of the game at his position.

For someone like Bayless, who never played a down in the NFL, to come out and say what he said to Carter’s face, that proves that he didn’t have all the respect for Carter and his career.

Perhaps their relationship can be mended someday, but that day does not appear to be close at all.
