The Cincinnati Bengals have knocked on the door of a Super Bowl for the past couple of years.

Zac Taylor turned the narrative about him around, proving that he was the right guy to lead the team through adversity.

Joe Burrow has established himself as the second-best quarterback in the game, trailing only Patrick Mahomes and not for that long.

And they have a combination of a balanced defense, a much-improved offensive line, and an explosive offense.

That’s why analyst Cris Collinsworth said on “Good Morning Football” that this is the year they finally go the distance and win the whole thing (via PFF).

Truth be told, that’s not going to be an easy prediction to fulfill, and it’ll only happen if Burrow is fully healthy after dealing with a calf injury for the better part of the offseason.

The battle for the AFC Championship will be one for the ages, with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and — obviously — the Kansas City Chiefs all being potential candidates.

One could make a case for the Bengals being a better team than all teams in the NFC not named San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles, so there’s a chance they could get the job done if they make it to the big game again.

The Bengals were so close to the ultimate glory just a couple of seasons ago, but Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams were just too overpowered.

They know now what it feels like to be there, and they’ll strive for another chance to take care of business.
