On Wednesday, the Chicago Cubs got to the eighth inning down three runs against their crosstown rivals, the Chicago White Sox.
The Cubs scored one run in the bottom of the eighth, allowing themselves to dream about a walk-off win in the ninth.
That’s exactly what happened.
Down 3-1 in the last inning and with two men on base, Christopher Morel sent a ball to center field and became a walk-off hero for a team in a heated fight for the NL Central crown.
It was easily one of the most thrilling moments of the 2023 season, and not just for the Cubs: for baseball in general.
It had everything fans dream about with these moments: drama, heroics, people going crazy in the stands, players jumping around and celebrating at home plate, and much more.
It was electric, and the Cubs made sure it will last forever with this phenomenal video.

It was Morel’s 19th home run of the season, and they have come with a cool .260/.327/.516 line and 59 RBI.
The one he hit on Wednesday was, by far, the most important one of his career.
Chicago, after an ugly first half in which they underachieved, is now 62-58, tied with the Cincinnati Reds for second in the NL Central.
They are both 2.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for the division lead.
It will be an exciting three-team race from this point until the 2023 campaign ends, but the Cubs can rest easy knowing that they have a competitive team once again.
Morel is a big part of their present and also their future.
