It seems like just about every Dallas Cowboys fan is waiting with their breath held to see if their team will end up successfully giving quarterback Dak Prescott a contract extension.
He is one of three stars who are due for extensions, along with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and pass rusher Micah Parsons.
If Prescott does not receive a contract soon enough, he will become a free agent next offseason.
When asked about his contract situation, he said that he’s a “gambling man” and that he “will gamble on” himself and his guys, per Action Network.

If Prescott isn’t one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks, he’s close.
He threw a league-high 36 touchdowns, as well as 4,516 yards while completing 69.5 percent of his pass attempts last season, and he was discussed as a leading MVP candidate for a little while late in the schedule.
Dallas won 12 games for the third straight season, but as usual, they found a way to screw up in the playoffs.
They fell behind 27-0 in the second quarter of the Wild Card round versus the Green Bay Packers, as Prescott threw two early interceptions, and they ultimately lost, 48-32.
There are persistent questions about if Prescott will ever start performing well in big games, and those questions could perhaps put some doubt into the question of whether Prescott will be a Cowboy past this upcoming season.
If he is to hit the free market next spring, one can be sure there will be a number of teams clamoring for his services.
