When Dalano Banton started this season, he was playing for the Boston Celtics.
But in February, he was sent packing to the Portland Trail Blazers.
With one swift trade, Banton moved from the best team in the league to one of the worst.
However, he has been thriving during his time with the Blazers, scoring more points, getting more time on the court, and just looking like a better and more confident player in every way.
Banton now knows that the move to Portland was for the best.
“I was just marinating there with a great team,” he recently told The Athletic.
For players like Dalano Banton, meager minutes and a trade from Boston represented a fork in the road of his career.
Luckily, the Trail Blazers decided to give him a shot.

Banton has been scoring double-digits for multiple games now.
On Sunday night, he scored 28 points and 9 assists against his former team and gave them a taste of the talent they said goodbye to in February.
While some people would be bitter if they experienced what Banton did, he is using it as a learning experience and letting it inspire him to do even more with the Blazers.
He knows the skill and potential he has and is ready to show it off in Portland.
Instead of focusing on the past, Banton is looking to the future.
Banton benefitted from coming to a struggling team.
With the Celtics, he wasn’t afforded much time on the court and wasn’t able to enhance his skills.
But with the Blazers, he is one of the many young players who is able to get more minutes during games, try new things, and improve.
This is great news for Banton but it’s also an encouraging development for the Blazers.
The team hopes to be one of the most exciting and youthful squads over the next few years and Banton could be a part of that.
