This NFL offseason has been an interesting one, especially when it comes to star running backs in the league and their uncertain futures, with teams no longer valuing players at the position like they did in the past.

It seems as though NFL teams have come to the conclusion that it isn’t hard to get productive players at the running back position on the free-agent market or through the NFL Draft at a reasonable price.

This has proven to be costly for some of the best backs in the league, like Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, and the recently released Dalvin Cook.

Despite making the Pro Bowl four years in a row and being among the elite class of backfield players in the NFL, Cook has been unable to find a new team in the league since being released by the Minnesota Vikings.

However, it appears this may be a choice that Cook has made rather than something he’s been forced to accept, as he is reportedly enjoying the free agency process rather than getting frustrated by it, according to CBS Sports, via ProFootballTalk.

Once Cook was surprisingly released by the Vikings, the consensus was that it wouldn’t take long for him to sign with the Miami Dolphins, who have a need at the running back position.

The addition of Cook would make the Dolphins one of the most talented offenses in the NFL, with Tua Tagovailoa leading the charge under center with Tyreek Hill downfield and Cook coming out of the backfield.

It seems as though Cook isn’t liking the offer from the Dolphins and is willing to take his time, which is a surprising twist with training camp right around the corner.
