Dalvin Cook is officially a free agent.
After being released from the Minnesota Vikings, Cook has been linked to several teams across the league.
Despite many rumors and fans hoping that he’ll join their team, until very recently, Cook hadn’t been on any free-agent visits.
That has since changed, as Cook is slated to meet with the New York Jets.
In an appearance on Good Morning Football, Cook explained some of his motivations behind this meeting.
“I wanna add to whatever they’ve got going on,” Cook said.

The Jets have added significant pieces to their roster throughout the offseason, particularly on offense.
Given his career success, Aaron Rodgers’ presence alone could be a contributing factor to Cook’s decision.
Cook also has a meeting with the New England Patriots, which will take place after his meeting with the Jets.
Assuming Cook performs as expected, the Jets could put a compelling offer together, potentially eliminating his need to go to New England.
One of the main reasons that the Jets would even consider Cook is Breece Hall, who is recovering from an ACL tear.
Cook could be a bridge player for the Jets, holding the fort down until Hall can play to his total capacity.
For a team that has invested so much into their roster, they are expecting a massive yield on their investment, hoping to break their playoff drought.
This could include a slight overpay for a player like Cook, as he could immediately impact their team, given that he’s currently in full health.
