With training camps about to open across the NFL, everyone is waiting on star running back Dalvin Cook to choose his next team.

He was released earlier this offseason by the Minnesota Vikings, and it isn’t common for such a talented and skilled player to be available on the open market this close to the start of a new season.

But Cook is preaching patience, as he called picking his next team “a life decision.”

Update: At his sold out Football and cheer camp, Pro-Bowl RB Dalvin Cook said he continues to maintain his patience before choosing his new team.

Cook, who is nearing his 28th birthday, has run for over 1,100 yards and made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, and as recently as 2020, he scored 16 rushing touchdowns.

The Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and New England Patriots are thought to be the front-runners to land him, and he would be a huge boon for any one of those squads.

The Jets already have an impressive team on both sides of the football, but they do not have a very strong ground attack, and Cook could take lots of pressure off the aging Aaron Rodgers.

The Patriots also need a productive running back, but unlike the Jets, they’re merely hoping to return to respectability three years after the departure of Tom Brady.

However, many feel the Dolphins make the most sense for Cook.

They could have a roster that would be primed for a Super Bowl championship with him, and they currently do not have a reliable player in the backfield.

In addition, Cook is originally from Miami, which would make signing with the Dolphins seemingly fitting for him.
