The Portland Trail Blazers have refused to do right by Damian Lillard.
Lillard stood pat there through thick and thin, willing them to playoff contention with subpar supporting casts and constantly shaking off speculation about his future.
Now, they refuse to send him to the Miami Heat, his preferred destination.
However, as petty as it may seem, this actually makes perfect sense.
The Blazers ought to do what’s best for them as an organization, regardless of if it rubs Lillard the wrong way.
At least, that’s how one of their fans feels, which is why Lillard took to Twitter to call him out for that.

Truth be told, this is not a good look for Lillard at all.
The fan is just sharing his thoughts, which are pretty valid, by the way.
The NBA wants to avoid another precedent of a player forcing his way out and handpicking his next destination, which is why they sent out a memo regarding his trade situation.
Lillard is a stand-out and respectful person, and he’s earned the love and praise of the fans for that, so there’s no need to get into that kind of argument on social media right now.
Moreover, it’s not like he was struggling to make ends meet in Portland, as that loyalty also came with hefty payments more often than not.
At the end of the day, it’s all business, and the Blazers have every right to try and make the most of their most valuable asset, just like he has every right to feel uncomfortable there.
