Damian Lillard’s ongoing feud with the Portland Trail Blazers could have taken an ugly turn.
Lillard reportedly liked a tweet from a fan urging team owner Jody Allen to sell the team to Nike owner Phil Knight, citing that he wouldn’t hesitate to go over the luxury tax and spend big bucks if that’s what it takes to win NBA championships.
Needless to say, that like prompted countless reactions on social media, which is why the All-Star guard went live on Instagram to clarify it was nothing but a mishap.
Lillard stated that he would never do anything to offend Allen, adding that she’s been very good to him and his family even outside of basketball and explaining that he doesn’t handle himself that way (via @TwoWayDav on Twitter).

Truth be told, it was uncharacteristic of a guy like Lillard to get into that kind of drama on social media.
Lillard has always had nothing but the utmost respect towards the Blazers organization, his coaches, teammates, and the front office, so it was kind of off-brand for him to do that.
But considering how the tables have turned regarding his desire to leave the Blazers, anything was possible.
Dame is reportedly still adamant about being traded to the Miami Heat, and his brass has reached out to all teams letting them know that trading for him would be trading for a disgruntled player.
This feud could still escalate and get uglier, but for now, it seems like it was nothing but a misunderstanding.
