Many NBA stars have enjoyed shoutouts from rappers in their songs.

But how many can say they have been rapped about by a fellow NBA star?

Damian Lillard, currently of the Portland Trail Blazers, is also an acclaimed rap star.

And in his latest song, he mentioned Immanuel Quickley of the New York Knicks.

“Gucci from head to the sandals, $51 Million, that’s annual, get to it quickly, Immanuel,” is the lyric that Lillard penned on “My Daddy’s Son,” via NBACentral.

It’s a clever rhyme and a nice way for Lillard to nod his head at another great star.

Of course, some people will suggest that this lyric means Lillard is open to the idea of joining the Knicks.

At this point in the long, complicated trade process that Lillard is in, that wouldn’t be too surprising.

When he first demanded a trade from the Trail Blazers, Lillard made it clear that he only wanted to be sent to the Miami Heat.

The Blazers weren’t impressed with any offers from that team.

Now, weeks later, the talks have come to a standstill.

This means Lillard may need to adjust his expectations or remain in Portland.

So, could the Knicks be a team that takes a run at signing him?

That’s unlikely because they already have one of the most celebrated guards in the league right now in Jalen Brunson.

It’s not really clear how Brunson and Lillard would work playing with one another.

So while Lillard is calling out a star from the Knicks, it’s unlikely that he will be sharing a locker room with him.
