The Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly holding onto the hope that Damian Lillard takes his trade request back.

According to the latest reports, they hope that Lillard will eventually want to jump on board again and run it back with their roster.

Nonetheless, NBA insider Marc Spears reveals that Lillard hasn’t changed his stance about wanting a trade (via NBA Central).

Moreover, the multi-time All-Star is still adamant about playing for the Miami Heat and not any other franchise.

It’s been weeks since Lillard told the Blazers that he wants to be traded to South Beach.

Pat Riley and his camp have unsuccessfully tried to pull off a deal for Lillard, and it doesn’t seem like Blazers GM Joe Cronin is willing to fulfill his wishes.

The Blazers reportedly have no interest whatsoever in Tyler Herro, and while multiple teams have expressed their interest to partake in the deal as a potential three-way trade, nothing has happened thus far.

In the meantime, the word around the league is that Lillard’s agent has already reached out to all the teams seemingly interested in trading for Lillard and warning them about trading for a disgruntled player.

Lillard spent more than a decade preaching loyalty and how he wouldn’t run from the grind or pursue a championship the easy way, so this saga has taken a bit of a toll on his public persona.

Some believe he’s earned the right to call the shots; others think he should just abide by what the Blazers decide to do.
