After the Milwaukee Bucks acquired superstar guard Damian Lillard in a blockbuster three-team trade with the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns, Giannis Antetokounmpo and company were thought to be the new team to beat in the NBA.
The Lillard and Antetokounmpo duo was as intimidating as any in the league, even though the high-scoring guard lacked the ability to be a force on the other end of the floor like Jrue Holiday, who ultimately landed with the Boston Celtics.
Even though it was a bit rocky to start the season for the new star-studded roster for the Bucks, Milwaukee has started to hit its stride, with the team winning 10 out of their last 12 games before taking on the upstart Indiana Pacers in the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament on Thursday night in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to Lillard, the Bucks are only getting started because they’re admittedly still trying to figure things out but are already sporting an impressive record of 15-6, which has them in second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Celtics, via Legion Hoops.
Damian Lillard:
“…The scariest thing is that we’re [15-6] right now, and we’re trying to figure it all out. And I haven’t even gotten started, bro. I promise you.”

Even though the Bucks have struggled defensively this season with Lillard not being the defender that Holiday is, Milwaukee has been able to dominate on the offensive end of the basketball floor on a nightly basis, which has been enough for this team to impose its will.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the new-look Bucks can continue to win games and if the team can contend for a title even with its deficiencies on the defensive end of the floor.
