During the 2023 NFL season, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs seemed to take two steps back rather than a leap forward, looking nothing like the team that took down Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the previous season’s big game.
The Chiefs were sorely lacking at the wide receiver position and it showed, despite having arguably the best quarterback in the game running the show in Patrick Mahomes.
Even though many weren’t really taking the Chiefs’ chances of repeating seriously as they looked to be a flawed football team offensively, Kansas City defied the odds and went on to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles, setting up what could be a historic 2024 campaign.
The real question now is, which team in the league can give Andy Reid’s squad a run for its money and prevent them from making NFL history as the only team to win three straight titles.
Damien Woody of ESPN said he thinks there’s only one team that can give them some trouble.
“We are in the [Michael] Jordan era in the AFC,” Woody said, referring to Mahomes and the Chiefs. “But I do think the Baltimore Ravens have the team that can represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.”

Before losing to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last season, the Ravens seemed like the cream of the crop in the NFL and primed to win it all with MVP Lamar Jackson leading the way.
Unfortunately, Baltimore folded at the wrong time.
However, this season could be different, especially with the addition of running back Derrick Henry, as the Ravens could be a considerably better football team and have enough to take down the defending champions if it comes to that again in the NFL playoffs.
