The Portland Trail Blazers are in no rush to trade Damian Lillard, which should come as no surprise.

As a team, they’re obligated to do what’s best for themselves and the future, so they should leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding the best value for their superstar.

However, sports analyst Dan Le Batard believes there’s not much they could get for Lillard at this point, at least not in terms of a bona fide star.

On the latest edition of his show, he claimed that Tyler Herro is the best player they can get for Lillard, adding that he’s better than Tyrese Maxey, but he gets a bad reputation because he’s White (via NBACentral).

Truth be told, Herro’s numbers aren’t that different from Maxey’s, and they both still have plenty of upside as young players.

They can play pretty much the same role, although Maxey could be more of a ball-handling guard, which isn’t what they need there with Scoot Henderson ready to take off in the post-Damian Lillard era.

Some believe the Blazers simply don’t want to comply with Lillard’s desire to play for the Miami Heat.

Whatever the case, no other team will have an incentive to trade for Lillard knowing that he doesn’t want to play there, so there’s a big chance the Blazers will eventually have no choice but to take what the Heat are willing or able to give them before Dame’s trade value drops even further in the next couple of months.
