Over the past couple of seasons, Anthony Edwards has gone from a promising young player to a legitimate superstar and undisputed leader of the Minnesota Timberwolves, making the team relevant for the first time since the Kevin Garnett era.

Edwards played so well for the Timberwolves last season that he led the team all the way to the Western Conference Finals and made Minnesota a team on the rise in the NBA with a bright future ahead.

Currently, Edwards is trying to win his first gold medal on Team USA during the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, while playing alongside superstars Stephen Curry, LeBron James and his idol, Kevin Durant.

Heading into the 2024-25 NBA season, Edwards might have been able to soak up the knowledge from his peers overseas and could take it to another level while taking the Timberwolves the distance if everything comes together in Minnesota.

Although his future seems locked in with the Timberwolves, Dan Le Batard laid out a potential scenario in which Edwards would request a trade to the Miami Heat, depending on who wins the legal battle to own the team in Minnesota.

Although it seems like a stretch for Edwards to request to leave the Timberwolves after the incredible season he and his team had last season, Le Batard does make some sense in what he says about how this could go down.

Obviously, this would be a disaster for the Timberwolves and a huge win for Pat Riley and the Heat, as it could be just what Miami needs to get back into the title chase for the foreseeable future.
