Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, there was a lot of buzz about the San Francisco 49ers and the team potentially trading one of their best wide receivers at some point in the draft.
Although a trade never came to fruition involving Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the 49ers still keep their options open and show interest in making a move before next season.
That said, Aiyuk, who wants a contract extension, and Samuel may not be safe in San Francisco, especially if a team starts seriously considering upgrading their receiving corps.
With offense being the biggest problem for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, Dan Orlovsky of ESPN took to Twitter to say he believes Mike Tomlin and company should try to trade for Samuel before next season.

The Steelers have made it clear during this NFL offseason that they aren’t messing around anymore when it comes to the offensive side of the football, as the team signed veteran Russell Wilson and traded for Justin Fields to help secure the quarterback position.
Four out of the team’s first five picks in the NFL Draft were offensive players, with the Steelers bringing in a tackle (Troy Fautanu), center (Zach Frazier), wide receiver (Roman Wilson), and a guard (Mason McCormick).
If the team added Samuel or Aiyuk, for that matter, Pittsburgh would look pretty good on offense to start the 2024 campaign and might be able to make some noise in arguably the toughest division in the league.
