For the first time in decades, the Detroit Lions got to host and even win a playoff game.

The Lions hosted the Los Angeles Rams in what ended up being the most exciting game during the Wild Card Round.

Detroit snuck by Los Angeles with a 24-23 win, advancing to the next round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs where they will play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Lions played a solid game against the Rams and did enough on the margins to pick up the victory.

However, Detroit now has to deal with a Tampa Bay squad that’s been playing some of their best football as of late.

Dan Orlovsky broke down how the Buccaneers’ offense likes to operate and what the Lions’ defense will need to do in order to slow it down via his personal Twitter account.

Orlovsky goes into incredible detail on the types of concepts and designs that Tampa Bay’s offense will use to spring open players like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, presenting quite the challenge for the Detroit defense.

Matthew Stafford lit them up for over 300 yards, so the Lions’ secondary is easily the weakest group on their defense.

Tampa Bay does an excellent job of scheming guys open, and with players like Evans and Godwin who can heat up in a hurry, Detroit could be in trouble if their secondary plays like they did against Los Angeles.
