The Washington Commanders are entering a new era.
As such, they need to make sure to roll with the guys they feel good about.
That might not be the case with Jahan Dotson, who recently looked like the odd man out there.
That’s why they traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles in a rare in-division trade.
They got a third-round pick and multiple seventh-round picks to send the wide receiver to a divisional rival.
Considering that, former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky shared his thoughts on the move on Twitter.
Wow
Guess McCaffrey must be in line for a ton of time along with Brown https://t.co/5h6wWI6KlI

He believes that this move opens up the door for rookie WR Luke McCaffrey — the younger brother of Christian McCaffrey — and Dyami Brown to get more playing time.
Notably, Brown had turned plenty of heads during training camp, and while his snaps next to Jayden Daniels in the preseason were limited, the early returns were promising.
As for McCaffrey, he also drew positive reviews from the coaching staff and did some interesting things in the few snaps he got to play in the preseason.
Terry McLaurin will obviously stay atop of the depth chart as the primary target on offense, but everything else seems fluid in Kliff Kingsbury’s scheme.
As of now, it seems like Brian Robinson will start at RB, with veteran Austin Ekeler as his backup.
Jayden Daniels will have plenty of talent by his side to dominate right out of the gate, and this is definitely an exciting time to root for the Commanders, which is something that hasn’t happened very often in recent years.
