The Chicago Bears find themselves in a favorable position heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.
Due to their trade with the Carolina Panthers last season, the Bears have the No. 1 overall pick, an asset that could change the trajectory of their team for the foreseeable future.
With great power comes great responsibility, so they say.
The Bears have a decision to either stick with Justin Fields, moving forward with a known entity, or draft a highly-touted quarterback, hoping to start over.
Dan Orlovsky recently appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he outlined what he thinks the Bears should do.
“Justin Fields showed a lot this year, but I think quarterback is the right choice at number one for the Bears,” Orlovsky said.

It does feel like it will be Caleb Williams but I think Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels are in the conversation” ~ @danorlovsky7 #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/J0xJfVSCbI

When speaking about what quarterback that should be, Orlovsky said, “It does feel like it will be Caleb Williams, but I think Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels are in the conversation.”
Williams seemed to be the clear No. 1 option heading into the 2023 NCAA Season.
He was coming off a Heisman Trophy victory, and it appeared that he was slated for another elite season.
However, due to many factors, including a poor defense from USC and spectacular play from other quarterbacks across the league, Williams’ standing did fade a bit.
It will be interesting to see what the Bears and many other teams decide to do.
If they do take a quarterback, Daniels would best fit into a Fields-like role, but if they’re looking for a more traditional option, they could elect for a player like Maye or Williams.
