The Minnesota Vikings might have to make a tough decision this offseason.
They held onto Kirk Cousins last year.
He was on an expiring deal and claimed that he wanted to stay in the Twin Cities for the long run.
He played at an MVP-caliber level and kept the team in contention after a bad start to the year, even after Justin Jefferson fell with an injury.
However, as much as he would love to be there and they would love to have him, that might not be the case.
At least, that’s how former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky feels about it.
Talking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” he stated that the Vikings need to make Jefferson their No. 1 priority in the offseason.
“The Vikings aren’t gonna be able to afford Justin Jefferson at a high number and Kirk Cousins…” Orlovsky said.
He added: “They’re gonna have to make a move at quarterback and I could see them moving up in the draft.”

With that in mind, they won’t be able to keep their superstar wide receiver at his market value while also getting Cousins the money he could get somewhere else.
He believes the Vikings might need to realize the fact that they will have to trade up in the NFL Draft to get a quarterback and just let Cousins walk away in free agency.
Cousins suffered a season-ending injury and isn’t particularly young, but he could still help multiple teams and will most likely demand steep pay in his potential final contract.
That will most likely mean the end of his days with the Vikings, as they need to look ahead into the future and build around their All-Pro wide receiver.
