The Phoenix Suns have done it again, with the franchise making another bold move to acquire another superstar-caliber player in the form of sharpshooter Bradley Beal.
After losing to the Denver Nuggets in six games during the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Suns brass knew this team was lacking something and might not be able to get over the hump without some more changes.
That change has turned out to be Beal, but the blockbuster trade has gotten some mixed reviews, with Dan Patrick of The Dan Patrick Show not sold that the Suns got better due to the deal.
“I don’t know who won this trade… Phoenix now has 3 guys who do the same thing.”

Adding Beal into the mix gives the Suns another veteran scorer who is tired of losing and wants to win in the second half of his career in the NBA, which is always a good thing to have on a team determined to be a contender for the next few years.
However, Patrick has a point that the team has only brought in more scoring at the cost of losing depth and veteran point guard Chris Paul, who was the reason for the team’s drastic turnaround a few years ago.
If the Suns stay as currently constructed, they will have one of the most intimidating starting lineups in the NBA but will have perhaps one of the weakest second units, which will need to be addressed as it could prove to be this team’s Achilles heel.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Suns aren’t done making moves and if Deandre Ayton is the next big-name player to be shipped out of Phoenix.
