The next era of Washington Commanders football is here as the organization revamped the team on and off the field ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
After years of mediocrity, new majority owner Josh Harris made sure to make a splash as he brought in head coach Dan Quinn to lead the roster.
Quinn was a popular head coaching candidate during the hiring cycle after leading the Dallas Cowboys defense the past few years.
The former Atlanta Falcons head coach brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and was a perfect hire for a young Washington team that needed structure.
Defensively, Quinn will be tasked with getting the Commanders back up to a respectable level.
To help him, Washington brought in veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner whom Quinn couldn’t help but gush about via Around the NFL.
“I’m so lit up about getting him here. It’s been a long time since I’ve coached him,” Quinn said.

Quinn got to coach Wagner in 2013 and 2014 during their time together with the Seattle Seahawks and the two reunite in Washington.
The Commanders saw their top two tacklers in Cody Barton and Kamren Curl leave in free agency, so Wagner will presumably step in to fill the void in the middle of the field.
Despite being in the latter stages of his career, Wagner is still a highly productive player and should be able to relay Quinn’s calls clearly next season.
Quinn and Wagner have a great opportunity to re-establish the culture in the Commanders’ locker room and it’ll be interesting to see what the two can accomplish together.
