It’s the dawn of a new era for the Washington Commanders.

The new ownership group wants to do everything differently from the previous regime, and that should translate into success.

It all started with Dan Quinn taking the reins as their new head coach, but drafting Jayden Daniels could be the true catalyst for change.

The LSU product was one of the highest-touted and most sought-after players in college football last season.

Still, even though the expectations for him were quite high entering training camp, it seems like he’s been even better than expected.

Recently, Coach Quinn revealed that his rookie quarterback has surpassed all expectations thus far (via JP Finlay).

The Commanders also have a creative and innovative offensive coordinator in Kliff Kingsbury, not to mention plenty of weapons to work with.

Austin Ekeler, Zach Ertz, Jahan Dotson, and Terry McLaurin are all more than capable of breaking out and putting up big numbers, and Daniels’ versatility as a dual-threat quarterback could take this team to a whole new level.

Of course, there’s always a learning process, and all rookies go through growing pains, even the great ones.

Nonetheless, it still feels like people are sleeping on the new-look Commanders ahead of the upcoming campaign.

And while not many players can dominate right out of the gate like C.J. Stroud did last season, it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise if the Commanders make plenty of noise out of the NFC East Division with Daniels at the helm.
