Frustrated NFL fantasy team owners can get a breath of fresh air after watching what D’Andre Swift just did to the Minnesota Vikings.
The former Detroit Lions RB failed to make an impact in the season opener vs. the New England Patriots, with Kenneth Gainwell getting most of the bulk and the carries.
However, he definitely made the most of Gainwell’s absence in the second game of the season, torching the Vikings’ run defense for a whopping 175 yards on 28 carries, averaging 6.3 yards per rush and also scoring a touchdown.
With that performance, Swift had the most rushing yards in a game by a Philadelphia Eagle since the legendary LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy back in 2013 (via SportsCenter).

Most people speculated that Swift would take over for Miles Sanders as the RB1 on Nick Sirianni’s team, while others predicted it would be a running back by committee approach at the very worst.
That hasn’t been the case thus far through two weeks, with one back handling most of the load, and the backups barely getting any run.
This time, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny took a backseat to Swift with five and three carries, respectively.
Still, the Eagles ran the football down their rival’s throats, logging an impressive 259 rushing yards overall.
Minnesota could never dictate the tempo of the game, and the Eagles nearly doubled them in time of possession (39:28 minutes to 20:32).
This run-heavy approach could be quite effective for Sirianni’s team going forward, especially with that solid offensive line and their multiple options out of the backfield.
