The United States men’s Olympic basketball team is fresh off winning a gold medal.

They proved to the rest of the world that they are still the most dominant in the sport, as this was their fifth straight time winning gold.

One of their biggest contributors was Steph Curry, who scored 60 combined points in their final two games, mainly getting it done from the three-point line.

During these two games, Curry only missed a few shots from beyond the arc, continuing to stay hot from deep.

While Curry was lauded for these performances, D’Angelo Russell boldly indicated that he could provide a similar impact on a roster.

A fan tweeted about Russell getting “hot like Curry did,” to which Russell said, “I humbly agree,” which was shared via NBA Central.

Curry is viewed as the best three-point shooter of all time, and for Russell to claim he can play similarly is certainly bold.

Russell was once considered one of the best young players in the NBA, but he has slowed down in recent seasons.

He averaged 17.8 points per game for the Los Angeles Lakers last year, which isn’t inherently poor, but it is down from his career high in the 2019-2020 season, where he averaged nearly 24 points per game.

Russell has made an impact on teams with his athleticism, not necessarily because of his three-point shooting.

It will be interesting to see if he can back up this talk in the 2024-2025 season, and what the future holds for him in general.
