The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have to wait much longer to try and exact revenge on the Denver Nuggets as the two teams are set to clash in the first game of Opening Night of the 2023-24 NBA season.

The Lakers restructured their roster to give them more talent and depth to compete with the Nuggets who remain one of the favorites to represent the Western Conference.

Nikola Jokic remains the best player in the NBA, though Los Angeles has healthy stars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis to combat The Joker.

The Lakers also have several quality role guys on the team, including D’Angelo Russell who has a chip on his shoulder after getting played off the floor against the Nuggets in the playoffs.

Russell looked like he took all the criticism hurled his way personally as he used the preseason slate to show the league that he can be a valuable contributor on both ends of the floor.

Like the rest of the organization, Russell has had to deal with constant chirping from Denver personnel and fans, but he’s not paying any mind to it via Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints.

“Who cares?” Russell asked.

Russell brushes off the question almost immediately and simply calls it another game that he and L.A. need to prepare for and try to win.

It sounds like the guard isn’t trying to provide any extra motivation for either side, though it’s clear that the other players on the roster have been paying attention to what’s been said up to this point.
