D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers has seen a lot of great talent enter the league but few stars have compared to Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.
Like many others, Russell is blown away by Wembanyama and thinks he should be winning all of the awards.
Appearing on Tidal League, per Brett Usher, Russell claimed that Wembanyama should have claimed “Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player [of the Year], Most Improved, All-NBA…MVP.”
He clearly thinks that Wembanyama is the future of the league and should be treated like one of its best stars.

Wembanyama already earned Rookie of the Year and it feels like just a matter of time before he nabs the rest of those trophies.
Next up will likely be Defensive Player of the Year.
That went to Rudy Gobert last year but Wembanyama was in the running for it, a stunning feat for a rookie player.
Will MVP and All-NBA be far behind?
As much as he loves Wembanyama, Russell wants to challenge the Spurs star and get the best of him in the season ahead.
But the progress that Wembanyama has shown after just one year suggests that will be hard to do.
With his length, his speed, and his defensive power, Wembanayama can overpower just about anyone.
Plus, his offensive game has gotten so much better already and it’ll likely improve more as time goes on.
He is now one of the biggest names in the league and has one of the largest targets on his back.
Russell and many others are in awe of Wembanyama but they also want to defeat him.
