The Cleveland Cavaliers season has officially come to an end.
They were in for a tough challenge when they got matched up with the Boston Celtics, and the outcome was somewhat predictable.
Also, with no Jarrett Allen for the entire series, tired legs from their first-round matchup with the Orlando Magic, and the way some of the players performed, it’s safe to say this team kind of overachieved.
Now, with Donovan Mitchell’s future with the organization still in doubt, it seems like they might be forced to make a choice.
According to a report by Shams Charania (via The Athletic), Darius Garland’s camp could look for a trade if Mitchell decides to stay put.
Rival executives are preparing for Cleveland to choose between keeping Donovan Mitchell or Darius Garland, and they expect Garland’s camp to potentially look for a new team if Mitchell remains in Cleveland, per @ShamsCharania

Apparently, the Cavs will have to evaluate the fit of their backcourt, and they would favor Mitchell over Garland — as they should — if it came down to that.
Garland is represented by Klutch Sports’ CEO Rich Paul, and they could look to find him a new home in the offseason.
The one-time All-Star left a lot to be desired in the season finale.
He scored 11 points on 17 shots, didn’t grab a single rebound, and handed out nine assists.
He was erratic and lacked the aggressiveness one would’ve wanted to see from a former No. 5 pick and alleged second-best player on the team.
On paper, his partnership with Mitchell should be one of the best in the game, and they’ve fared well in the regular season and seem to get along.
But his development has severely stalled, and the Cavs could be more than willing to part ways with him right now.
