The Los Angeles Lakers took down the Sacramento Kings in their latest preseason game on Wednesday night.

There were a few major stars who led the Lakers to their win, including point guard D’Angelo Russell.

Russell has been doing well during the preseason so far and he did it again on Wednesday with 21 points and 8 assists, shooting 66.7% from the field and 40% from the three-point line.

After the game, head coach Darvin Ham was asked if the Russell fans are seeing on the floor is the same man he has been witnessing in practice, via Spectrum SportsNet.

“Absolutely,” Ham said, noting that Russell has been working hard to create his own points, find teammates on the floor, and just be a strong facilitator in every way.

Russell has been a breakout star during the Lakers’ current preseason run.

He has scored double digits every night and has also been working well with others, creating strong assists, and inserting himself successfully into nearly every offensive play.

Last season, Russell averaged 17.8 points, 3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists.

He had a few difficulties during the postseason and there were some fans upset by his output.

In fact, some even said he should lose his starting privileges when the new season starts.

But Ham believes in Russell and is receiving every reason to.

Russell is hoping to carry over this strong production into the regular season.

When he returned to the team last season, he said that he wanted to stay in Los Angeles for a long time and make the fans proud.

He got off to a bit of a rocky start last season but 2023-24 could be his year.
