The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t earn a preseason win on Friday night but head coach Darvin Ham still insists his team “got a lot of stuff done.”
Speaking to the press following the loss to the Golden State Warriors, Ham called Friday’s game a “good test” and added that he “thought our guys handled it well.”
He concluded: “It sucks to lose but a lot of great things to draw from.”

Ham listed plenty of things he was happy about with Friday night’s loss.
He was particularly proud of the team’s defense and its ability to spread the other team thin, clog up lanes, and relentlessly follow the ball.
Additionally, Ham was excited to see so many players in the lineup score double digits.
The Lakers had six players who scored more than 10 points: Taurean Prince with 17, Austin Reaves with 16, Anthony Davis and Christian Wood with 13, and D’Angelo Russell and LeBron James with 12.
The fact that James didn’t have to be the point leader for his team is great news for the Lakers.
This roster really is much deeper than it has been in years and it is showing on both ends of the court.
The fact that the Lakers don’t have to only count on a few guys for all of the work is wonderful news for Ham and gives him plenty of options.
LA was leading for much of the game on Friday but ended up giving the victory away in the fourth quarter when all of the big names were resting and lesser-known new recruits and bench players took over.
But it’s okay because LA didn’t need a win to walk away happy.
