After dropping Game 2 to the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets on Monday night at Ball Arena, Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward Anthony Davis was incredibly frustrated after doing everything he could to help the team win and coming up short for the 10th straight time in a row to this team.
Davis vented his frustration after the Game 2 loss by claiming that the team sometimes doesn’t know what they’re doing on both ends of the basketball, which was immediately perceived as a shot at head coach Darvin Ham, who has made some questionable coaching decisions this season.
Ahead of Game 3 on Thursday, Ham spoke to the media on Wednesday and was asked about Davis basically throwing him under the bus and disagreed with what his superstar forward said about the team being lost on both ends of the floor at times this season via Daniel Starkand of Lakers Nation.
“I think sometimes the plays don’t turn out the way you think they should. The frustration sets in a little bit. But I don’t think it’s, for us, not being organized, ” Ham said.

Clearly, there seems to be some tension between Ham and some of his players, as this isn’t the first time that he’s been openly criticized for his decision-making ability or lack thereof.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Lakers moving forward, as obviously, it’s not good that Davis might be at odds with Ham, especially with an offseason filled with uncertainty if the team doesn’t have any success in the NBA playoffs this year.
The Lakers will have their backs against the wall in a must-win Game 3 on Thursday, followed by a potential series-clinching Game 4 for the Nuggets on Saturday.
