The Los Angeles Lakers bounced back against the San Antonio Spurs following a loss against the Golden State Warriors in the previous game.
One of the biggest differentiating factors for the Lakers against the Spurs was none other than the return of LeBron James to the roster.
James missed the previous game due to an ankle injury, but is now healthy and ready for the final stretch of the season for the team.
The Lakers did allow Victor Wembanyama to have an excellent game, but they managed to overpower him with a team effort.
Head coach Darvin Ham reiterated the same message during the postgame conference via Spectrum SportsNet on Twitter.
“I just told them after the game, it’s not so much who your specific opponents are, no disrespect to the other 29 teams, but a lot of times, even though we were missing guys on the lineup, we have to step up and try to be the best versions of ourselves,” Ham said.

Ham’s message was simply to ensure that the team brings the best version of themselves on the court regardless of their opponents.
Sure, Wembanyama had 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks, but it resulted in a 118-123 loss for the Spurs.
On the other hand, the Lakers had double-digit scoring contributions from all five of their starters.
LeBron James led the scoring with 30 points to his name, followed by Anthony Davis’ 28 points, and D’Angelo Russell’s 22 points.
The Lakers now flaunt a 31-27 record in the 2023-24 NBA season with just 24 games left to be played.
One thing that could aid the Lakers in the two dozen games left in the season is having a significant home-stretch.
If the roster can maintain it’s current form, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they attain a top-six seed in the Western Conference come playoff time.
