Most Americans are excited to see Team USA take on the French national team in Saturday’s Olympic battle for a gold medal.
Not Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy.
On X, Portnoy posted a video about how he’s not supporting Team USA in the upcoming game and is instead throwing his support behind the French.
He is doing this because of his anger at head coach Steve Kerr because of his resistance to playing Jayson Tatum more often.
Portnoy’s passionate video is sure to get a lot of big responses from American fans online, which is exactly what he wants.
I want to be very clear. I am rooting for France to beat the USA in the gold medal basketball game. My allegiences are far stronger to @jaytatum0 than dodo brain Steve Kerr and Bron Bron. https://t.co/2saZUmkgb6 pic.twitter.com/2WuHCt2J7m

Portnoy proudly wore his Boston Celtics shirt during the video, another sign of his admiration and dedication to Tatum.
There are many Celtics fans upset by the lack of Tatum in the Olympics.
Kerr has said his benching of Tatum is a strategic choice and has nothing to do with his playing.
But there is a loud chorus of Celtics fans who simply do not believe Kerr and find it very odd that Tatum is sitting out of entire games just months after winning an NBA title.
Tatum might get some time on the court during Saturday’s final, especially since Kerr’s choice to bench him during the game against Serbia received such a backlash.
The bottom line is that the Americans have been winning, with and without Tatum.
At the end of the day, that is all that truly matters for most fans.
But Portnoy and other Celtics supporters have grown sick of Kerr’s choice regarding Tatum and are letting their voices be heard.
