After a bit of a slow start, the Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be making some key improvements.

After a clean sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend, Los Angeles came into their game on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies with a little extra momentum.

And they certainly carried that momentum through their opener with the Phillies, as they busted out for 13 runs and ran their winning streak up to four games.

They also reclaimed sole possession of first place in the NL West.

David Peralta led the way with four RBI, and after the game, he caught up with Dodgers reporter Kirsten Watson to discuss the team’s win and his own performance.

Peralta started off by expressing his gratitude that he was finally able to barrel some balls and see his hard work pay off in a game.

He was then asked about what he’s been seeing lately from the offense.

Peralta believes that the Dodgers lineup is finally coming together, hitting balls hard and picking up key hits when it matters the most.

He was also proud that the Dodgers had carried their momentum from their series against the Cardinals into their series opener with the Phillies, and stressed the importance of setting the tone by winning the first game of a series.

Los Angeles sat at the .500 mark ahead of their series with the slumping Cardinals.

They are now a season-high four games above the .500 mark and have taken advantage of the recent struggles of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
