DeAndre Hopkins’ departure from the Arizona Cardinals has been one of the biggest stories of the NFL offseason.

He is currently 31 years old and hasn’t gotten a new contract to this point.

In the NFL, production typically slows down for players once they turn 30, especially for a position like a wide receiver.

However, Hopkins seems to believe that he still has several years of elite production left, if his recent comments are any indication.

According to Hopkins on the NFL’s website, “I’ll retire from the NFL when I’m not a 1K-yard receiver.”

Hopkins has logged six seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards in his NFL career.

Over the last two seasons, Hopkins has dealt with suspension and injury, playing in just 19 games during that timespan.

When healthy and available, Hopkins has proven that he still has what it takes to compete at a high level.

He is just waiting on an NFL team to give him a chance, signing him to a new deal.

The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots have been named as front-runners to land him, but with nothing set in stone, Hopkins remains a free agent.

Wherever he goes, Hopkins will be ready.

He also indicated that he’s not looking to play for just one or two more seasons.

“I might be playing till I’m 37 the way I feel,” Hopkins said.

This would make him one of the oldest receivers in NFL history.

Regardless of these comments, however, Hopkins still waits for a contract.
