Before becoming the new head coach of Colorado last season, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders made a name for himself as a coach with Jackson State, which put him on the map as potentially one of the better head coaches in the country.

Even before trying his luck as a head coach on the college level, Sanders became a household name for what he was able to accomplish in the NFL with the five teams he played with, namely the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, and Dallas Cowboys.

As the No. 5 overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, Sanders was a star on the rise coming out of Florida State University, as it seemed as though he could do anything on the football field.

Although his football playing and coaching career has taken him all over the country, Sanders still has a soft spot for where he played his college football and where he was born (Fort Meyers, Florida).

Sanders recently made an appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast and said he believes Florida produces the best football players in the country. via Barstool Sports.

“Florida,” Sanders said. “I think the best football high school-wise is played in Texas, but the dogs, man, that’s Florida, Louisiana, Georgia.”

Although Texas and California produce a lot of elite football players, Florida being Sanders’ choice is not all that surprising, and is definitely one of the few states that would be in this conversation.

However, for the time being, Sanders is in Boulder, Colorado, and will have to figure out a way to get the Buffaloes back on track with or without talent out of Florida.
